Monday is usually a get stuff done day. Teigue goes to school (it was very cute dropping him off after a week away..he was so excited and so were all his buddies) and Jayno and I go grocery shopping and clean the house. Very exciting. Today we had some excitement in the mix- since Max and Jill are out of town, we get the pleasure of watering their plants. They love hanging out at Max and Jill's (as do Brady and I). Their yard is full of plants and exciting things for the kids to play with and touch. Teigue usually takes a souvenir when leaving their house. Today it was a couple of passion fruit flowers.
Tonight, the kids decided that they both wanted to help me cook. It makes me so happy that the kids take an interest in cooking, and any time they want to help I usually help them. Teigue helps me cut mushrooms, crack eggs, make pasta...he thinks that he is a chef. Love it. I think that Stella just wanted to be involved because Teigue wanted to help, but I don't care. Getting them involved and having them enjoy the experience is all I care about. They shared a step stool (looks like a trip to IKEA is in order to get another) and helped me ..umm..season the chicken. Like I said, I only care that they enjoy the experience.
After rinsing the salt off the chicken, we make a very tasty Mac and Cheese using my Gram's recipe as a base. Mmmm...
