Halloween

Only picture I was able to get of both kids in their full costumes. WALL-E was not a big fan of the goggles. Looking at this picture I can see why...

Wow. Halloween with two little ones is a little crazy. Chaotic. Sort of stressful but really really fun. Especially if you are under the age of 33.
The Halloween weekend festivities started with a Halloween walk at Teigue's preschool. Basically they walk around the block as parents stand in certain areas and pass out candy. It was so very cute watching Teigue with his little buddies comparing how much candy they had gotten, as well as me watch Teigue interact with the kids.

Jayno and I hung out on the sidewalk for the class to get to us. One of Teigue's teachers had given Stella a box of Nerds that she sat and ate piece by piece by piece while we waited. She was actually quite neat about the whole process. It seemed as if she didn't want to lose any of the candy.

When we got home, little lady was on quite the sugar high. She decided that it would be a very good idea to build a fort with the kitchen chairs and then pop a balloon on said chairs. This of course was not a very good idea (and I was too far away to stop her) and she promptly fell off the chair and bit through her lip. Again. I think that her lower lip is going to eventually be filled with scars from her injuries.

The boo boo on her cheek is from her having Brady Fox's DNA. She likes to pick at her injuries until they become much bigger and worse looking than they need to be.

On to Halloween itself. Teiguee was so very excited about the day (is there a 3 year old out there that is not excited for candy?). He told me three or four times as he was going to bed on Friday, "Mommy, Mommy do you know what tomorrow is? Halloween!". He normally falls asleep about 5 minutes after stories are over. Friday he was up a good half hour. Super cute.
We decided on Thursday that we would only eat black and orange food all day and made a menu plan to follow. One thing that we ate was black pasta (made with squid ink). Really cool looking and quite tasty, but the whole squid ink process was a bit messy and icky (and smelly). The kids thought it was really neat...even if they did ask me if the pasta dough was poop a couple of times...

Teigue announced as we were trick or treating with his favorite skunk Gongol and Cinderella Emma (and as he was eating his third piece of candy in the span of a half hour) that he could walk, and stay up, all night. Thankfully neither turned out to be true- he promptly passed out after one story as soon as we got home from Gongols. Phew.

It is very very important to run as fast as you can house to house. You never know if the candy will run out in the time it would take you to walk.

Figuring out who had more candy.

Cutest Oggy that the world has ever seen.

Happy Halloween everyone! Now I just need to figure out how to rid the house of all this candy without Captain Sweet Tooth and Lady Sugar High knowing. And without me eating it...
