Yesterday the plan was for me to go Christmas shopping while Brady and the kids made a very special cake for a very special day for a very special me. It was also a cake for our anniversary since Brady and I were married a day before my birthday. As I was getting ready to leave, Brady holds up a pan and said, "So this is a 13x9 cake pan, right?". As the cake pan was in fact a 9 inchround, I decided that it would be best if I stayed, just in case he needed a bit of help.
I need not have worried. They were great. Brady was surprised on how great they did, as a matter of fact, and how wonderful Teigue is in the kitchen. He cracked the eggs, and all the shells stayed out of the bowl this time!
They licked the beaters to make sure it tasted perfect. Jayno decided that it would also be a good idea to scoop batter out of the bowl with her hand and taste it. She was on a bit of a sugar high afterwards...
The cake turned out so very tasty (too very tasty, actually...must stop eating cake...) and everyone had a great time going through the process. I was able to finish my shopping and was serenaded with an early "Happy Birthday" on my arrival home. It was a great day.
